FarToGoReaders is the blog of the Far To Go book club. We meet once every six weeks or so. The book to be discussed is chosen on a rotating basis. We tend toward 20th and 21st century western lit. You cannot stop us, you can only hope to contain us.

The Wheel Weaves as the Wheel Wills
To pass the time in between Far to Go novels, I'm reading this.
That's right, folks; It's Book 13 of this series.
Unbelievably I have been reading the Wheel of Time since I was in my 20s - for nearly 20 years now. It's the best fantasy series I have found outside of Tolkien. In fact, I think it measures up to Tolkien except for a few of the middle books which lost some of the narrative direction, favoring instead lots of exposition about complex politics and the games that noblemen and women play to achieve power.
The Wheel of Time has outlived its creator. Robert Jordan died in 2007 while working on the conclusion to the series. Luckily for fans, he left extensive notes and collaborated with another author, Brandon Sanderson, to ensure the series will conclude as he had planned it to all along. Sanderson wrote the twelfth and thirteenth novels, and he will write the fourteenth and last novel in this series in the next couple of years. What will I do then?
Probably start over!
